Sanitation Precautions

The health and safety of your precious new baby has always been our top priority. The covid 19 pandemic has brought new challenges for us all in regard to health and sanitation, and while none of us can fully control viral exposure of any kind, Karen Laine Photography is making every effort to go above and beyond to continue providing a safe environment for you and your baby.

Karen Laine Photography is taking the following sanitation steps to maintain the safety of our studio and props for your family’s health and peace of mind.

All props/backdrops/blankets/outfits/wraps/etc are cleaned and sanitized following each session.

The studio and all equipment used for each session is cleaned and sanitized.

Our photographer will wear a protective mask, and as always, will wash hands and use hand sanitizer throughout your session. Hand sanitizer and masks are available for use in the studio.

A medical grade HEPA air purifier that filters down to .01 microns is in use in the studio.

We make every attempt to limit the traffic in the studio to necessary personnel only. The studio is spacious, making social distancing easy to maintain.

Sessions have been shortened to reduce the amount of time we are together. Babies tend to rule the session. The length of a session tends to depend largely on how settled or alert baby may be during the session. However, we do our best to maximize our time together. We will work together in the planning of the session to be sure that if there are any particular poses that are most important to you, we give them priority in the session flow. Very alert but settled babies will be photographed in some unposed shots such as our signature (and very popular!) “baby mug shots” while he/she is alert. When your baby is unsettled, we may move to swaddled poses to make the best use of time. Approaching the session in this way will help the session stay on track with time while still allowing a variety of looks for your baby’s session.

Lastly, we ask that we limit the number of people in the studio as much as possible. If you have chosen a baby only session, we ask that just one parent come with baby. In the past, we have loved having grandparents in the studio to enjoy this experience with their children and new grand baby, but at this time we are unable to accommodate family or friends who are not being photographed. We cannot permit unwell individuals into the studio. If you or another member of your party are feeling under the weather or have been unwell within the two weeks prior to your session date, or have known contact with someone who has been unwell or tested positive for covid19, please contact us to reschedule your session.
